every weekday at 4:00 for whoever can attend. somewhere around the courthouse. other times could be made available to suit peoples' schedules. "whenever 2 or more people gather in Direct Actions name....." we ended up walking down to break espresso for warmth, coffee, and snacks for the sweet tooths i was with. he-he a nice environment. weekends by appointment. we need lots of ideas, anybody can call for and facilitate a meeting whenever they choose. everyone has a stake in this.

I think the meeting should be at the same place, same time each week ... the more consistency it has, the more people can plan and count on it. And it will begin to feel reliable enough to refer people to it. I happen to be unable to make any 4:00 meeting b/c of work, but I would still recommend consistency in time and place.

from nearly day 1 the meeting has been listed as 4:00 daily at the courthouse. i didn't set the date, or the location. it was arrived at by consensus of the participants of the first few direct action committee meetings. open for business for all who may wish to attend. a new date and time can be achieved by consensus if necessary, or desired. the 3 people who showed up at the courthouse yesterday at 4:00 had no place to meet that was out of a cold wind. we went to a location to brainstorm and talk and get to know each other better. we took the liberty of going to Break Espresso. it had warmth, coffee, and treats if desired.

I'm sorry, John -- I totally didn't mean to sound hostile (if I did) in that e-mail. Truly. I think I was writing quickly and it came off with a far different tone that intended. All I'm saying is that we should keep the meeting time/place consistent -- if it has been, great. Let's for now on say the meeting are at Break to avoid losing people in transition.

no worries rebecca. no offense taken. just listing what is. to restore my personal enthusiasm in trying to help bring about a transformation in the collective consciousness that will enable justice and fairness i find today that i need a break from this particular effort. i believe strongly that it is possible to build a new world. i strongly support the Occupy movement itself. it has given me hope. sadly i don't think this local group is the vehicle i want to be on right now. i am going to discontinue the direct action projects i have been working on. if someone else wants to carry on, that's up to them. i don't want to continue right now asking and organizing people to rally, and possibly expose themselves to sacrifice and arrest in conjunction with a group that seems to want to remain directionless, and worse yet, a group that seems adamant on restating its organizational worldview and public message on a minute by minute basis.

A lot of the work groups have changed meeting times to suit their needs and the practicality of meeting --- maybe this group needs to meet once per week instead of every day? I think there is a misconception about the way the GA works in relation to the working groups--- We can just notify everyone through spreading it online and at the GA... If any of you out in the world want to take this group on and need to change the times, please just post here the new minutes and info , or keep it up how it has been , if that is working ! If in doubt , make a proposal formally at GA but i think notice of a time change would be fair ? unless osmeone sees this different...

John, I just want to say that your energy and wisdom in #om will be missed. I wish you the very best. Maybe some changes will take place with this group that will allow you to feel confident again to share your time and talents. I am feeling the same way you are right now and am hesitant to give the occupy group in Missoula much of my own time/energy right now.
