2. There is now a paper calendar at the GA for recording announcement events! Please state your events (what, when, where) and post details on the calendar so you can refer people to the calendar for clarification of details! Also: to restate from last week: The website calendar is being updated regularly—please send the dates and details you announce a the GA to OM@gmail.com to have them added to the calendar (Go to occupymissoula.org and click on Calendar of Event in the right side menu).
3. Baucus super committee action-email occupymissoula.org for details (this is not an occupy event, but the person heading this will respond if you email that address)

6. National Buy Nothing Day action being planned for Black Friday, to continue into a buy nothing Christmas! Contact the direct action folks for more info!
7. “We are the 99%” Rally planned on Broadway and Russell. Details?
II. Work Group Reports
a. Facilitation: Communication and facilitation are working together to help define the structure of our meetings and other internal communications. Please review the GA structure document and bring any concerns or suggestions to the communications or facilitation workgroup. Next meeting: Generally, facilitators meet for ½-1 hour directly prior to each GA (Tuesdays 4:30pm for 5pm GA-Courthouse lawn, Sundays 12pm for 2pm GA-Union Hall meeting room, follow posters)
b. Communications. Several communication documents were passed out during the GA for GA review (attached). There is a proposed handout/half page flier with a condensed message, please review for adoption as a simple handout for events. Comm group prepared a general task breakdown by areas of communication which we invite/encourage anyone to tackle the tasks outlined therein, or others if you have better ideas! “Troll control” on the proboards and website suggestion: don’t waste time responding other than with a brief, positive “Attend GA!” or similar. Next meeting: Sat 11/19 the Break Espresso.
c. Encampment & Logistics: The new encampment is drawn up, and a registration process that includes a 72 hour job shadow is planned, so new people can learn how the camp works, but also so that the new people can be integrated into the camp and those who are not able or willing to follow camp safety rules can be un-invited to participate. Registration and shadowing will be put into effect as soon as the camp is settled after it was taken down for reorganization on Friday. Camp council meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning.
d. Development/Teach-ins: See Kim or go the proboards thread at occupymissoula.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=dtw
e. Direct Action: There are several actions planned, please get involved! See Melissa, find her in front of Baucus’ office on Wednesdays from noon-4pm, or get info at the info booth re: Occupy is the FIRST direct action!, fly signs, send postcards that if no one else at least the postal workers will read, talk to people (neighbors a good start).
f. NEW WORK GROUPS: Expect to see more info at the proboards and the info booth soon!
i. A new direct action work group has formed around Missoula Foreclosures
ii. Occupy and Missoula’s Houseless/Homeless: NEW WORK GROUP, more info coming soon!
iii. Finance: NEW WORK GROUP, more info coming soon!
III. Discussion & Proposals
a. Proposal: There was a new participant who wanted to propose a study group around the Fed/he will talk to the Development work group regarding starting a free-school class (Point of Process: this was sent to appropriate work group as it was not an appropriate GA topic as of yet/it will be included in the work group report as the idea is developed!)
b. It was proposed that Occupy Missoula sponsor a bus pass for an encampment participant who will use the bus pass to attend a GED course. While this proposal is not a GA matter and should be taken to the Finance committee, since that committee is not currently operating, it was run through the GA proposal process. Commentary was taken for and against. The proposal to sponsor the bus pass, with friendly amendments that in the future such requests are taken to the finance work group AND that a formal process for attending to finance concerns such as this one is developed for any future requests, passed by consensus.
IV. Encampment Discussion
It was agreed during the Work Group reports that the GA wished to have a discussion of the encampment. This discussion was moderated by keeping stack, and it was allowed to proceed organically to respectfully allow everyone every opportunity to add their voice. Discussion continued for almost 2 hours (?) and was very emotional. During this period there were no formal proposals made and thus the discussion will not be documented here.
V. Next GA
Next GAs:
Tuesday 11/15, 5pm, at the Courthouse, followed by a potluck and laughter at 6pm(?).
Sunday 11/20, 2pm at the Union Hall
An open forum will be held prior to every Sunday GA from 1pm to 2pm. Discussion will be open to all and focus on ideas and strategies for shaping the future of this movement. Everyone is welcome!
