Hey all, I've been watching a series of lectures given by Prof. Richard D. Wolff at the New School in NY in 2009 titled "Economic Crisis and Globalization." I highly recommend it. These lectures formed a graduate course in International studies, but his presentation can be followed by anyone. Prof. Wolff has spoken a number of times at #OWS and presents a very different take on what's been going on in our economy and what has led to the crises we are currently facing. If you want the short version, you can watch his "Capitalism Hits the Fan," both available on YouTube. (Wish I would have studied under this guy as an undergrad...)

I recommend also Bill Moyers' article in the Nov. 21 issue of The Nation called "How Wall Street Occupied America." He writes, "The rise of the money power in our time goes back forty years. We can pinpoint the date...August 23, 1971, a corporater lawyer...confidential memorandum for his friends at the US Chamber of Commerce...a call to arms for class war waged from the top down." He traces the deliberate steps.
