Hello - I am a new member to this site, so I hope my post is in the right place and not out of context. While I've been quiet in the Occupy movement I fully identify as being part of the 99% and I am eager to find a productive way to change the social, economic, etc. inequities in our country. My brother in law is an organizer in New York's Occupy movement and he's written a useful article that I've attached to this post. I think it's important to consider focusing OccupyMissoula's efforts toward public action that tackles local issues of inequity, rather than maintaining a 24 hour presence at the courthouse. I realize that others may disagree and respect their convictions and dedication. However it's my opinion that to maintain public sympathy the occupy movement should not come to be seen as a "nuisance" or a group of "trouble makers". Instead we should strive to be (and be viewed as) a group that has accomplished the goal of raising public awareness. Now it is time to evolve into a group expanding into many campaigns for direct action. Again, I hope this is a useful comment - I'll reiterate I'm new to the group and I do not mean to criticize or trivialize the tremendous efforts that members of this group have put forth in the past 2 months. I thank you for all your work and dedication on behalf of the 99% Attachments:

Hi! Thanks for posting. I read the article you posted and think it is right on and makes important points in considering where we are at right now in the movement. The physical occupations did catch the public's attention and were successful in starting the conversation, but at this point seem to be turning into a target increasingly used to malign the movement. I would like to see the movement be harder to pin down. I would like to see it stay one step ahead of those who would falsely characterize it. I'm not sure how we do this but our group is full of creative people and I'm sure we are capable of generating some novel and inspiring ideas.
