On Nov. 20 over 70 students walked out of a lecture by Harvard professor Greg Mankiw in protest of his Econ.101 class which teaches a failed economic model in the guise of objective education. Students all over the country use the texts written by Mankiw to teach a skewed free market fundamentalism as "classical economics". The texts are still used here at UM. I propose we organize some action highlighting these texts and the teachers still preaching this flawed, destructive gospel. Any students reading this that have any ideas? Others? Wish I'd done this instead of resisting Econ. 101 by obstructing lectures and eventually flunking out of the course. Combine and Occupy!
