Below is the text from theOC night shift program. I think we could come up with something similiar that applies to the needs of our communities occupation. Check it out. Perhaps we can make a working group to develop a plan like this.
Village Night Shift Program
Occupy Orange County Irvine has challenges in weekday evening to morning numbers, and it needs your help. We are in a unique position compared to other Occupations. We do not enjoy some of the attendance-building qualities that urban centers have. We are a suburban collective in an area that is immersed in a higher concentration of political conservatism. It also may be the most southern Occupation in OC so it stewards to much of South County, so we cast our net far. Many villagers may work and/or live farther away from Irvine, and/or have transportation challenges. Many have pets, kids, deadlines, homework, maintenance and so on as well. We must overcome this stuff so the city can see a phenomenon on their hands and allow us the privileges (many would say Constitutional Right) to sit in overnight inside our park.
The Night Shift Program is designed to bolster our numbers at needed times – the evening to morning hours. 4-Hour shifts mean that one does not have to stay all night long. The program also stresses that there is no risk of citation, in case that is a concern for citizens unfamiliar with the village. It encourages fun activity during a given shift such as:
Epic conversation
Continued organization
Laptop movies (don’t forget to charge your battery)
A good book and a cozy chair
Mediation/reflection/prayer
Music swaps (bring laptop, hard drives, etc…)
Study/homework
Quiet games (board or electronic)
Bring warm food and hot drinks
Contributing to human progress and history
(Whatever you can think of)
The mission is to communicate a clear, easy and fun way for many Occupiers to contribute their presence if their personal time is limited – at times when our numbers need help. We need to visually convey the force that’s in our hearts.
Ultimately, this program merely suggests organized 4-hour time segments in order to introduce a little more comfort and convenience. It is an effort to establish personal attendance goals for you to focus on.
Please make it a personal goal to attend during these times:
10pm to 2am
Evening Village breakdown through 2am changing of the guard (for lack of better words). 10pm is when all village gear must be stowed in our box truck overnight, so coming a little bit early to help load can be very helpful.
2am to 6am
Guard change until village set-up. Many set up their tent at 6am and sleep then. Others call it a night.
6am to “As Long As You Want”
This is important as the villagers are exhausted, yet they must unload the box truck. At 6am, we need more muscle to unload and erect the village. Even if you stay for an hour before work, this is much appreciated gesture that helps moral. Showing presence during morning rush hour expresses our force better at this peak time.

Donations for the Night Shift Program can sure help!
Please consider donating between 10pm until around 7am. Hot food, hot drinks, laptops, WiFi/MyFi access, books, MP3’s, games or something you think can make the night experience better.
One last thing. The spectacle of supporters on the ground not only supports the movement as a whole in so many ways, but it is also a local effort to gain access to full-fledged overnight occupancy – complete with tents and permission to sleep in the park. We were told by city officials that unusual circumstances (i.e., strength in numbers) that express the need for overnight occupancy must be conveyed. That said, another implement to show our numbers and support is the petition utility next to this paragraph. Please consider signing it so that progress can maintain. Thank you!
