I was wondering if people would like to work on a OM development day where we have rotating meetings, activities and teach- in's in one location for one blow out day.. capped with a social/dance potluck deal..
some ideas I was throwing around for that day..hopefully a weekend. - 2 meeting of each working group rotating times so everyone can attend everything they want - media room with videos and live stream all day -family caucus discussion -outreach caucus discussion -teach in's -Maybe a GA - social/dance potluck in the evening
I am thinking we would need a location with at least 5 meeting rooms hopefully more..
Is anyone interested in joining a working group specifically for a event like this.

Maybe we could call it a summit?

Before we have a summit, I think we should spend some time at base camp together. Honestly, I feel that we need to have a forum before our weekend GA's to help develop our understanding of one another, some collective understanding of what we are taking on, and some friggin team building. I want to see a teach-in, before GA that teaches facilitation, or consensus, or roots us all in your basic economics. I, personally, want to see some common knowledge, vision, and collaboration, before we go breaking off into various groups. WE ARE NOT YET UNITED

The idea of the summit day is to create activity and actions to create community throughout a whole day. Would you help schedule some of the teach-ins ect that you speak of that kind of thing is EXACTLY waht I thought this would be about...
The idea of the summit or conference is to spend a big chunk of time together doing things and getting acquainted with eachother and all the ideas we have to bring to the table.

If you want to see a teachin at any time.. schedule it.. the occupation wont happen for you.. I am working on this.. work on that.. no one should be held back from developing proposals and working groups, teach in actions ect.. I would love to see a teachin on facilitation too, how do we do that? or team building at the ropes course..

I think Debby was potentially interesting in a spoof facilitation teach-in and my proposal is that we establish some basics before our weekend GA's for the benefit of everyone, and then maybe brainstorm a few ideas that people most want to take part in, as far as discussion is concerned. I think a day-long gathering would be awesome, I just would like to see it be really cohesive. I just think we need a facilitation teach-in and consensus discussion before we can tackle this sort of thing well. Sorry if I sounded like a buzz kill, I would really love to develop this proposal with you. I am available by phone, and would love to talk more about it....electronic communication is not always the best! ***(phone number removed by admin - kate you might not want to publish your number here, feel free to talk to brooklyn via private message though, not trying to stop you guys from communicating, just wouldnt want your number to get into someone's hands that might bother you, these boards are completely public)

I sorry but every idea I come up with has a BUT added to it.. I dont have the energy. I dont want to be involved in the facilitation/ Consensus debate.. I guess when everybody is done with that we can work on other things.. Seriously everything I bring up is tabled for later or something else is wrong with it.. This is how I feel, I know you aren't responsible for how I feel. I just wanted to share as I wont be pursuing this project. Bringing ideas to the group is just a real heartbreaker.

Well hi,
I don't think Brooklyn and Kate are talking about two different things. I think that both concepts - a day long event of teach-ins and outreach discussions AND a day of team building and facilitation training - fit together into the same event.
Sorry if I sound like the typical Libra...but I like both sides of this coin. And that's just it...I think it's the same coin! You guys are both stellar in my book. I love seeing you each and every time your faces pop up in my world. Let's get together and make it happen.

DANG it !!!!!! i see both sides too and i love the summit idea brooklyn!!! dont give up on it! i wanted to help with that. How is it a heartbreaker if you do have poeple loving your ideas --- hey hey waht about me? And i am pretty sure those other two responders didnt dislike the idea, they looked to be just offering an "And what about this idea tooa/" you stimulated their minds and evoked a response....i hope you are still there... c'mon !
